There's Nothing Casual About the Care You Receive at Treanor Chiropractic!Apr 27, 2023
When you're seeking healthcare, do you want a doctor who is casual with your outcomes or one who is dedicated to correcting the issue once and for all?
If you're like the majority who roll up to Treanor Chiropractic, you opt for the latter. The former is a dime-a-dozen, and you want (not to mention deserve) more.
As a patient of mine, you know that not only am I NOT casual with your care, I am all about correcting the cause of what brought you through my doors.
After a complete physical, chiropractic, orthopedic, neurologic, and radiographic assessment, I'll get to the root of your issue (or issues) in which joint fixations are at cause. These fixations lead to misalignments kicking off a chain reaction that may be the cause of your spine and joint related issues.
From there, I'll create a comprehensive corrective care plan tailored specifically to you.
One thing I like to note is that patients who have previously had back surgery can often be adjusted safely and effectively when a thorough evaluation is performed. A non-negotiable part of that evaluation is a set of diagnostic radiographs (X-rays).
When a joint is injured, whether recently or a long time ago, it results in a misalignment. That injury can be in the spine or other joints, large or small. This injury causes irritation and interruption to the normal communication flow from the nerves.
Your body responds with inflammation and a reduction in blood circulation thereby causing a toxicity within joints. This ultimately leads to dehydration and further down the road, joint degeneration.
The kicker? When there is a reduction in nerve function, the body is unable to use its natural ability to heal itself. This can affect any and all parts of the body and can sometimes be a matter of life and death.
This fact right here is why one of my over-arching goals is to educate my patients and the public about the difference between Casual Care and Corrective Care.
Casual Care is when the patient comes in with pain and receives treatment just until the pain is gone. They return when they have another new issue or a relapse of the old one. Casual Care merely puts a band-aid on the problem and does not allow enough time to affect the root of the problem.
It saddens me when a patient treats their own care in this manner.
When they are not in pain anymore, this kind of patient says, "Sayonara Doc, see ya next time!" (because there's most often a next time), and goes back to doing all of the things that caused the pain in the first place.
What they don't understand is that even though their pain is gone, the problem has not been fully corrected and doing the same-old, same-old will damage the injured tissue more.
Corrective care, on the other hand, extends treatment into a wellness phase which allows a more complete and long-lasting healing, in turn optimizing health once the patient goes back to their normal daily activities.
Performing spinal adjustments over a period of time to correct the underlying joint dysfunction and misalignment allows the nerves to regenerate and heal, in turn allowing the patient to live a life where they are not just existing from pain episode to pain episode. When they live like that, they often miss time at work, time with their family, time with their sweetheart, as well as time (and energy) to pursue their hobbies, goals, and dreams.
This clear line of demarcation between "casual care" and "corrective care" is one you'll find me planted firmly on the side of correction.
Because you deserve a chiropractor who cares for you like this. And I'm honored you chose me as yours.
